Josh Brown’s crash at Lydden Hill

August 27th, 2010

Alas, the memory card on the onboard camera ran out just before Josh’s off in the last round at BSSO Round 4 at Lydden Hill last month so unfortunately we’re unable to show footage of the crash itself. However these excellent shots we received from a photographer who happened to be stood in the right place at the right time shows the action stage by stage:

So what happened then? Well after three first place wins in his class Josh was going for gold in trying to get another win in the fourth and final race of the weekend. The final laps can only be described as a dog fight involving Josh on his Polini-powered 70cc Zip and two high capacity traditional scooters. Pushing it that bit too far, Josh’s bike ended up going sideways at 60mph while dragging him along in the process. Thankfully Josh was unharmed. A dented Polini Evolution exhaust and smashed and scraped bodywork were the resulting damage to the Zip. For the rest of the story, pics and videos of each race at Lydden Hill, take a look here.

After the fog and rain at Lydden let’s hope the weather’s an improvement at BSSO Round 5 at Pembrey on September 04/05, then again it is Wales…
